What kind of companies can I sell ICHRA to?

StretchDollar’s ICHRA is available to companies with fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees in all 50 states. In most cases, the best fit is a small business with under 50 W-2 employees. At this time, ICHRA cannot be offered to 1099 contractors.

Best-Fit Employers

There are two ideal categories:

  1. Companies where traditional group health plans aren’t working anymore
  2. Businesses offering health benefits for the first time

Common Signs of a Great Fit

  • Group premiums are too expensive/or they just got a double-digit increase
  • They can’t meet participation requirements
  • They have high employee turnover
  • Employees are spread across multiple cities or states
  • The owner says, “We can’t afford insurance anymore.”

That’s usually your signal to introduce ICHRA as a more flexible, budget-friendly option.
