Where can I find the SBCs or specific health plan details for my clients?
Let's do a little big of background before jumping into the answer.
What are SBCs?
Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs) are short, standardized documents required by the ACA that make it easy to compare health plans. They highlight key information like costs, coverage details, and common medical scenarios (e.g., having a baby or managing diabetes).
How SBCs work with ICHRA
With an ICHRA, each employee purchases their own individual health plan based on what’s available in their ZIP code. That means there isn’t just one SBC per group—there are many, depending on the plan each employee selects.
How to find a specific SBC
When you run a quote with the quoting tool, you may have several plan option that appear. If your client wants more specific about the plans listed, here's how to find them. (You can also send the shopping link to your client to investigate too!)
- Go to the ACA Marketplace link in the quoting tool (or use the direct link provided).
- Enter the individual’s details (ZIP code and age).
- Browse the list of available plans.
- Use the filters on the left to narrow down your search.
- Select the plan you’re looking for and click “Plan Details.”
From there, you’ll see comprehensive plan information—including the SBC.
